Testimonials:
"For those who are interested in understanding the core fighting principles of well-reputed methods such as White Eyebrow, Dragon, and Mantis, Sifu Russ Smith's Hakka Boxing course presents the perfect entry point.
Not only will you learn how to perform key techniques from each style, you will learn what makes these work and how to apply them against a resisting opponent.
As always, Sifu Smith's teaching methodology is at once superlatively detailed, systematic, and practical.
There is no fluff or woo-hoo magic nonsense; just a good, solid grounding in the fundamentals of these three styles that martial arts practitioners of all stripes will enjoy and benefit from."

"The Burinkan Hakka Boxing Core has been revolutionary to my empty hand practice.
The three arts Sifu has combined in this program compliment each other well with similar yet distinct characteristics that demonstrate power and movement perfect for a close range fighter, or the close range component of a fighter's art.
Sifu Russ's teaching style is professional, refined and humble. He is able to explain the concepts and history of the arts in great depth, link them to concepts in other arts to help the transition, and eager to explore options and questions.
The class is dynamic, some lecture to get the points across, moderated practice using partners, heavy bags, wooden men, or other implements with frequent observations and corrections when appropriate.
I cannot recommend this program enough to any martial artist who is looking to improve their close in striking practice."

"I've been a student of Sifu Russ for a while now and a student of martial arts for over 30 years. The Hakka Boxing course is excellent for practitioners from many styles looking to improve their close range striking capability and self defense skills.
For karate practitioners it emphasizes several bridging applications that are lost in a lot of modern karate pedagogy.
For southern short first kung fu practitioners it gives you more tools in your toolbox and ideas to pay with in your sparring and free hands training.
For practitioners of long distance striking arts it gives techniques which serve as a bridge between long range striking and clinching/stand up wrestling.
I've gained a lot of use out of this course and Sifu Russ's teaching in full contact lei tai/sanda training and even in the self defense context. The emphasis on principles and the development of free hand skills rather than on dead drilling creates the ability to rapidly employ and test skills and see them develop in real time.
The course is outstanding and once again I highly recommend it."
